Ayurveda – The Knowledge of Life (Ayu: life; Veda: Knowledge of).
Ayurveda is an age-old way of life and an ancient system of medicine
that operates in tune with nature. It is a more holistic and natural
healing technique that believes (in stark contrast to the modern medical
system) in treating the individual rather than the disease.
General Massage (Abhyangam)

The person undergoing massage is made to sit on the Droni (a wooden bed
specially made for the massage) Two masseurs stand on either side of the
person, and apply herbal oil on the head and massage gently. This
massaging is continued on the neck, ears, shoulders, chest and back.
After this, the person is made to lie on the back and the massage is
continued from shoulder to toe, shifting the person on his right side
and left side, on his stomach and again made to lie down on his back,
finally in the sitting position. General Massage (Abhyanga) has been
found very effective for vigour and vitality, cure of rheumatism, good
eye sight, longevity, sound sleep, glowing skin. These massages are also
a preventive medicine. In short, it rejuvenates the body and maintains
the physique.

Dhara:

After a liberal application of the medicated oil on the head and body,
the patient is made to lie supine on wooden bed, his neck and head
placed in a comfortable position. A nonstop, continuous stream of the
medicine (medicated oil, herbal decoction, milk or other materials) is
made to drop gently on the forehead from a particular height through a
specially made apparatus. After the treatment the head is fully dried
with towel and again oil is applied to the head. This treatment is also
done for the whole body and for a particular part of the body depending
on the ailment. It rejuvenates, revitalize human mind and body for
diminishing the effect of aging. This is a special massage therapy for
stress and strain.

After lunch an escorted visit the National Museum &
Crafts museum.
The National museum has a comprehensive collection of archaeological
excavations, artifacts, ancient manuscripts, sculptures, wall paintings
and coins.
Crafts Museum was set up in 1956 by the all India Handicrafts Board,
with a view to preserving the artistic and cultural heritage of India.
The main objective was to collect the finest specimens of Indian
Craftsmanship which would then serve as source material for revival,
reproduction and development of crafts. It now displays India's
traditional crafts, as well as different styles of rural homesteads in
