How Scania changed from a traditional company in 1980s where management was based on command-and-control system with strong hierarchies to a customer focused, quality based and people-oriented company from mid 1990s to survive in a changing socio-economic environment. In the process Scania developed the Scania Way as a vehicle for making such a transition and become one amongst the world leaders in terms of performance.\u00a0Scania is a classical story of journey from Bankruptcy to the top of the ladder through quality and customer focus led by the top management.<\/strong><\/p>

Now that the social and technological changes are happening ever so rapidly, particularly in the information systems and communication technology, how Scania is attempting to make a transition towards developing and offering sustainable transport system to meet the future needs of the customer and the society and creating value for the company.<\/p>

Christian Levin is the Chief Executive Officer of TRATON SE and Chief Executive Officer of Scania. Traton with annual revenue of US$ 30 billion is a world-leading provider of transport solutions with a purpose to drive the shift towards a sustainable transport system. Scania is considered a leader in quality focused organization in Europe that has influenced many other companies to adopt similar approaches.<\/p>

Christian Levin was born in 1967. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business & Administration and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. In 1994, Christian Levin started his career as a management trainee with Scania CV AB. He held a number of management positions at Scania, including Director of Product Marketing as well as Managing Director of Italscania. In 2010, Christian Levin was named Executive Vice President and Head of Commercial Operations of Scania CV AB. From 2016 to 2019, Christian Levin was Executive Vice President and Head of Sales & Marketing at Scania CV AB. He has been a member of the Executive Board of TRATON SE since 2019. Until April 2021, he was responsible for Research & Development as well as for Procurement (Chief Operating Officer).
